- Originally part of the Army Dress Blue Uniform that was worn while the Army Class A Green Service Uniform was still the Army’s primary service uniform, the Army Blue Coat is now worn as part of the Army Service Uniform (ASU) as well as the Army Dress Uniform. It is a peak-lapel, four-button coat that extends past the crotch and fits easily over the chest and shoulders, creating a slightly draped effect in the front and back. A slight fit at the waist helps it conform to the wearer’s body shape without the appearance of tightness and no flare at the bottom.
